| Dear Friends and supporters Palestinian Christians in Australia (PCiA) welcomes the passage of Motion 24.1 at the Anglican Church of Australia’s 19th session of the General Synod, carried with overwhelming support. Moved by Canon Dr Dianne Rayson and seconded by Mr Howard Benson, the motion highlights the severe impact of the Middle East conflict, specifically noting critical shortages of food, water, and medicine, as well as the estimated 10,000 children living with life-changing injuries. The resolution urges church members to pray for and support the ministry of the Diocese of Jerusalem and the Anglican Board of Mission Australia, particularly their ongoing work at the Al Ahli Arab Hospital and its field clinic in Khan Younis. “This motion is a meaningful step by the Anglican Church of Australia to stand with Palestinian Christians in this moment of profound suffering. As the grandson of Bishop Faik Ibrahim Haddad, the first Palestinian Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, I know how much it means to have our church family’s suffering acknowledged.
