Thanks to your extraordinary compassion and generosity the past 2.5 years, we have now successfully supported 115 Palestinian and Lebanese families arriving in Australia from Palestine (Gaza and West Bank), Egypt, Lebanon, and Cyprus. When these families arrive, they are carrying nothing but the heavy trauma of what they have left behind. Forced to abandon all their worldly belongings at the border, many land on Australian soil without even a change of clothes. The Australian public’s warmth has been a beacon of hope for them during the darkest chapters of their lives, providing the immediate, vital relief they need to begin rebuilding. We cannot thank you enough for standing with us. The Urgent Need Ahead However, our mission is far from over, and the crisis continues to unfold. We are currently preparing for the arrival of 15 more families from Gaza in the coming weeks and months. Additionally, two families are currently stranded in Egypt, anxiously awaiting the renewal of their visas and desperately needing the funds required to purchase plane tickets to bring them safely to Australia. The families arriving now and in the near future have endured prolonged hardship and need our help more than ever before. Every dollar raised directly translates into winter clothes, safe shelter, food, and the basic human dignity these families deserve after losing absolutely everything.
