The Voice of PCiA – January 2024

CHRISTIANS WALK VIA DOLOROSA OF SOLIDARITY WITH GAZA Christians want to say they were walking via Dolorosa of solidarity the 41 Kms – the length of the Gaza Strip – praying for and demanding #ceasefirenow.

The #GazaCeasefirePilgrimage was started by a Kiwi named James Harris who, heartbroken and feeling helpless, was moved to walk the distance of Gaza (41 Kms) in prayerful solidarity. His impromptu actions raised over $5,000 for relief organised by Palestinian Christians in Australia. His mustard seed action grew as friends in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and then the USA came on board.

We felt the Holy Spirit moving this week. This project manifested within a few days and momentum built in churches big and small across the world. We started with a handful of Christian organisations and churches less than a week ago and momentum is now building with hundreds if not thousands to join by the end of lent.
LAUNCH OF GAZA CEASEFIRE PILGRIMAGE WORLDWIDE The Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage launch will be from the heart of Jerusalem, from the Mount of Olives, the very spot where Jesus wept over the city two millennia ago. It will be announced during a ceasefire service in Jerusalem on Sunday 14 January.

Christians will be engaging in a prayerful show of solidarity in cities around the world, where people during Lent will walk the length of the Gaza strip (41 kms). Churches and Christian organisations can host a walk during lent and join us in a walk of solidarity.

Anyone can join a #GazaCeasefirePilgrimage and walk the all or part of 41 Kms. You will be able to find a group to join. Your Church/Christian organisation can host a pilgrimage walk. Or you can start it for them and get a group of people together. The group can be as small as three and as big as a hundred! It’s up to you.

The Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage Lent period will cover from 14 February 2024 for the western calendar (Western Calendar Easter 31 March 2024) and will end 4 May 2024 to cover the Eastern calendar (Orthodox Easter 5 May 2024). We will keep on walking across both calendars to unite!

We will keep on building the website and connecting communities together. We will also keep you posted on progress. We thank Esme and James for putting this Website together. Forever grateful.
Yours Faithfully,
