SABEEL AUSTRALIA MARCH UPDATE

We have several major events happening in the next few weeks. Details are provided below, but please also share these items on your social media channels and with family and friends.


WELCOME: PALESTINIAN CHRISTIANS IN AUSTRALIA

Please join us online for the official launch of this new grassroots Palestinian organisation in Australia is this coming Saturday at 7.30 pm AEDT.

PCiA wants to be a catalyst within the wider Palestinian community. They want to raise their voice and ask the wider community and especially the Christian Churches in Australia to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.


HEAR OUR VOICES

A Lent mini-series featuring the voice of Palestinian Christians Palestinian Christians in Australia (PCiA), the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Network (PIEN) and Sabeel Australia are working together to present a series of three special online events during Lent.

The three events during Lent are at 7.30 pm AEDT. 

16 March (PIEN) – The Palestinian experience in West Bank and Gaza. Key speaker: Salwa Duaybis 

23 March (SabeelAU) – The Palestine experience in Israeli society. Key speaker: Daniel Munayer 

30 March (PCiA) – The Palestinian experience in the Diaspora. Key speakers: Jason Damouni & Faten Qunqar 

PALM SUNDAY EVE (April 9 at 6.00 pm AEST) A joint service hosted by PCiA, PIEN and Sabeel to mark the beginning of Western Holy Week.

Violette Khoury

Violette Khoury is a native of Nazareth, and a global advocate for peace and reconciliation.  After many years as coordinator of Sabeel in Nazareth, she is now the director of Nasijona, a local women’s association in Nazareth. The goals of Nasijona are to preserve, develop, produce and market local heritage, while supporting women in terms of productivity, social and financial, and revival of many kinds of arts, culture and social relationships that will lead to the reconnection of social harmony.
