Labor must stop military exports to Israel

The Greens Labor must stop military exports to Israel
Last week, we found out that the Albanese Government has provided over 50 military export permits to Israel since the start of this year alone. Since 2017, the Australian Government has provided over 350 military export permits to Israel. The State of Israel’s attacks on Gaza have killed thousands of innocent people and destroyed hospitals, schools and civilian infrastructure. This amounts to collective punishment and war crimes. This week, Palestinian human rights organisations – supported by the Australian Centre for International Justice – launched legal action against the Albanese Government to provide full disclosure of all military export permits since October 7th of this year. Gideon, you and I both know that Australia should not be fueling war crimes so that a small number of domestic arms dealers can profit. That’s why the Greens are calling on the Albanese Government to stop all military export permits to Israel immediately. Gideon, will you help by sharing our video with your friends and family? YES, I’LL SHARE THE CAMPAIGN The Greens have long opposed Australia’s uniquely secretive weapons export system. The Government has been able to avoid public security for years, while selling arms to countries engaged in human rights abuses – including Saudi Arabia, the Central African Republic, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the UAE and Israel.  Fueling conflict through exporting military equipment only continues violence at a time when most of the world is desperately calling for a ceasefire. Now more than ever, we must work towards peace.   In solidarity, Circular profile image of Senator David Shoebridge.
