Sabeel Australia welcomes The Very Revd Dr Gregory Jenks, as a member of the Management Committee and as President for Friends of Sabeel Australia Inc.
Dr Jenks is currently the Dean of Grafton. He was Dean of St George’s College in Jerusalem (2015/2017). He has previously served as Vice-President, President, and Secretary for our association and has attended several of the international Sabeel Conferences in Palestine.
Dr Jenks has been elected as President by the Management Committee following the recent resignation of Fr Dave Smith (Sydney). Fr Dave has been a passionate supporter of Sabeel and of Palestinian civil and political rights more generally, and he continues as a member of the Management Committee.
This appointment as President is for the period between now and the Annual general meeting, which is likely to be held via Zoom in late November. At that time all positions on the Management Committee will be open for nomination. A date will be announced shortly and notice of the meeting will be sent to all financial members of the association.
